As part of the Ramadan scientific and cultural evenings programme for 1447 AH, the Dr. Abdulqader Al-Ammari Hall at Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital last night hosted two lectures on "The Link between Law and the Right to Health", given by Dr. Al-Hadi Uraibi and Dr. Tarek Al-Jamali of the Judicial Research Centre.
The lectures were attended by the hospital's Director General, Dr. Ali Khalifa Eljarroshi; the President of Sirte University, Dr. Suleiman Al-Shater; Dr. Salem Mohalhel, Attorney General at the Sirte Court of Appeal; the head of the Sirte Prosecution, Counsellor Saleh Masoud Shuwail; the President of the Sirte Court, Counsellor Abdulqader Saeed; the head of the Sirte Allied Health Professions Syndicate; and a group of lawyers, legal professionals, members of the judiciary, those interested in legal and health affairs, and law professors from Sirte University.
The evening also saw wide participation from Libyan cities via video link, as well as representatives of the Attorney General's Office, giving the event a national dimension that reflects the importance of the subject and the depth of interest in it among Libya's judicial and health institutions.
The evening is part of the hospital's mission to strengthen integration between the health and legal sectors, based on the firm conviction that healthcare cannot be separated from the legal framework that governs it, and that establishing the principles of health justice is essential to guaranteeing the rights of both patients and service providers. It also reflects the management's commitment to broadening scientific and cultural awareness and building bridges of institutional cooperation for the public good.
The lectures addressed the importance of the right to health as a fundamental element of human dignity, stressing that protecting it requires effective institutional integration and a real partnership between health and judicial bodies, ensuring a safe and fair working environment in which professional and ethical standards are respected.
At the close of the evening, those present expressed their appreciation for this distinctive initiative, which enriched the scientific discussion and strengthened health-law awareness, and stressed the importance of continuing such programmes, which help develop institutional performance and establish the principles of governance and justice in the health sector locally and nationally.
