The Psychiatry Unit of Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital in Sirte organized World Mental Health Day events under the slogan "Supporting Mental Health Together".
The day opened with a welcome speech by Dr. Amna Ali, who presented the programme and its importance, followed by consultant psychiatrist Dr. Majed Matar, who highlighted the importance of community support for mental health and breaking the stigma attached to it. The head of the hospital's Internal Medicine Department, Dr. Al-Sharif Al-Shater, also welcomed the guests and praised the organizers of this scientific and humanitarian event.
The day included valuable lectures by doctors from the Pediatrics, Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, Dermatology and Obstetrics and Gynecology departments, underlining the link between physical and mental health.
At the close, the Deputy Director and the head of Internal Medicine honored the participating lecturers, and certificates of thanks and appreciation were presented to the organizers and participating doctors in recognition of their efforts in making this important day a success and in raising awareness of mental health.
