The 2nd Conference of the Intensive Care Unit, organized by the hospital's Intensive Care Department under the theme "A Journey of Challenge and Achievement" with the direct support of the General Command of the Armed Forces and the National Development Agency and the sponsorship of several medical companies, concluded at midday today in the Dr. Abdulqader Al-Ammari Hall at Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital in Sirte.

Over two days, the conference — with consultants and specialists from Egypt, Jordan and hospitals across Libya — included many workshops and scientific lectures to raise the competence of medical and allied health staff and present the latest medical advances in treating patients who need intensive care.

In the closing session, the chair of the preparatory committee praised the hospital management's efforts in hosting such scientific events and thanked all the visiting doctors and participants. Consultant Yahya Helmy Khater then spoke on behalf of the guests, stressing the importance of such conferences for exchanging medical expertise and information and learning the latest scientific advances in caring for ICU patients.

The speakers also commended the major role of the General Command in supporting and sponsoring all scientific and medical activities that help provide the best services to patients and raise the standard of medical facilities.

At the close of the conference, the General Command of the Armed Forces, the National Development Agency and the sponsoring medical companies were honored, as were the Medical Specialties Board, participants from outside Libya, the conference presidency, the scientific and preparatory committees, those who presented research papers, and the workshop trainers. The Sirte Security Directorate was also honored for its efforts in ensuring the security of visiting guests.

We value and encourage conferences like this, which keep doctors and medical staff up to date with the latest advances in managing critical cases and develop their competence in a specialty that is the cornerstone of the hospital: the Intensive Care Unit.
