Over two consecutive days, ten operations were performed using modern laparoscopic techniques in line with the latest approved medical protocols.
The bariatric surgery and sleeve gastrectomy operations — performed at the hospital for the first time in Sirte — concluded this evening in the surgical theatres.
The operations were supervised by visiting consultant in laparoscopic and bariatric surgery Dr. Alaa Wafa and Dr. Suleiman bin Naji, with the participation of the hospital's General Surgery team led by consultant surgeon Dr. Abubaker Al-Mazoughi, supported by the medical and allied health staff of the operating theatres and anesthesia department.
These operations are part of the hospital management's continuing efforts to host visiting doctors in various specialties, bringing treatment and delicate surgery to Sirte and reducing the suffering of patients who previously had to travel to other cities for this kind of treatment.
