As part of continuing efforts in health awareness, the Internal Medicine Department of Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital in Sirte, in cooperation with the hospital's Human Resources Department, organized a scientific and awareness event under the slogan "Prevention begins with awareness… treatment begins with early diagnosis".
The event was held in the Dr. Abdulqader Al-Ammari Hall, attended by specialists and doctors from the Internal Medicine Department and the surgical wards, as well as interns and medical and allied health staff from across the hospital.
It included scientific lectures on the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of viral hepatitis, medical advice on cases affected by the disease, emphasis on the importance of early detection, simple awareness sessions for the public, and direct answers to the audience, whose valuable questions made for a productive scientific exchange.
The lectures focused on the importance of early detection of the viruses that cause hepatitis, especially hepatitis B and C, and how to prevent them, as well as reviewing the latest available treatments.
At the close of the day, the head of the Internal Medicine Department presented a certificate of thanks and appreciation to Dr. Abdullah Al-Ahwal, one of the pillars of the department and of the Faculty of Medicine, for an honorable career in which he has given a great deal to the hospital and to the people of Sirte. May God reward him and bless these good efforts, and we pray for everyone's health and wellbeing.
